A lovely antique Edwardian Suffragette drop pendant C. 1910, decorated with six green Peridot’s, a violet Amethyst dropper and a halo of natural Pearls.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The central Peridot is 0.60ct with four 0.20ct stones around it and upon the bale.
The gallery hangs suspended from a Gold chain and is all 18ct Yellow Gold with a pin at the back so the piece can be worn as a brooch too.
A fabulous Suffragette piece that would look beautiful hanging from a Gold chain.
